I've had to do the same thing a few times, and it can seem daunting, but I ended up always liking the changes I made, and that improved my opinion of the process :)Meradeth Houstonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06741790047121063893noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-767025342430483177.post-85356499491739496742012-06-27T20:31:07.113-04:002012-06-27T20:31:07.113-04:00Maybe it should be a Quadrilogy! :) GMMaybe it should be a Quadrilogy! :) GMdavidgmckendryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10260294700325932371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-767025342430483177.post-69860606059720342422012-06-27T17:33:35.613-04:002012-06-27T17:33:35.613-04:00Does it have to be a trilogy? Then you wouldn't have to compress them.Liz A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16531953467834426316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-767025342430483177.post-68717350840132197062012-06-27T16:38:50.598-04:002012-06-27T16:38:50.598-04:00Well dang, if you think of it as a "compressi...Well dang, if you think of it as a "compression" instead of a "rewrite", that should definitely help! If you need help, I promise not to never finish like the last time :) I really did enjoy the Trials. I'd be happy to go through it and give you my perspective.fairbettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11641997265787156629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-767025342430483177.post-82692785049719590012012-06-27T11:12:35.879-04:002012-06-27T11:12:35.879-04:00I love first drafts. I had a lot of fun rewriting the earliest sections of my first Russian novel last year, and eventually brought it down to a perfect length of 335,000 words. The sequel is 406,000 words, and I'm predicting the third book will be at least 450,000.Carrie-Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05810154378449825641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-767025342430483177.post-72437017708320246122012-06-27T09:30:28.690-04:002012-06-27T09:30:28.690-04:00I'm working on a trilogy too and I've alre...I'm working on a trilogy too and I've already planned everything out through book three. Yet there's more and more story I want to include... and the books keep getting longer and longer. Compression is definitely needed for me as well!Julie Daohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13814052162359300933noreply@blogger.com
