Done.

Okay, this is a tiny bit awkward, but…

I'm published now!

It's a little bit awkward because, well, I didn't know if when I clicked the "Publish My Book" button on CreateSpace it would immediately publish it, or if the whole process would start then.

So, I pressed it.

Apparently, it publishes to Amazon.com the MOMENT you press "Publish My Book."

So, the date of publication for From the Ashes was Monday, February 11, 2013.

On Monday, February 11, 2013, I became A PUBLISHED AUTHOR.

Since I had no clue what I was doing, I never exactly set up a release date. And since I didn't set up a release date, I didn't exactly set up anything like a blogfest or something to announce or even celebrate the fact that I was published!

I hadn't even realized From the Ashes was available on Amazon until WEDNESDAY.

So, if you have any ideas or suggestions about what I should do, please tell me! Because I have negative five days to get this done!

–Jess

P.S.
My book's available in paperback on Amazon.com HERE and will be available soon for Kindle :)

Many Congratulations, Jess. It is also available as a paperback on Amazon.co.uk although the price of £10.99 is very expensive for a paperback book in the UK. It also states publication date as 11th February 2013.

Congratulations!!
Don't panic. Set up a short blog tour for March and then maybe do another in May. (I'd avoid April - A to Z Challenge rather dominates.) I'd be happy to host you in May!

Congrats! I'm very excited for you. This is awesome. :)

Createspace is a bit misleading with their publishing. Once you hit "publish", it's available on Createspace (you have your own storefront on there, which you can customized) immediately, and then on Amazon within a day or so (probably why you didn't see it until Wednesday). But don't worry, publishing is a learning process, and it sounds like you're doing great so far!

I would work on setting up a blog tour with interviews, excerpts, reviews, etc., and make sure you sign up for the Goodread's author program, and get your book listed. You can do giveaways for paperback copies on Goodreads too, which is a good way to get word out about your book.

I'd definitely be willing to participate if you want to do a blog tour or a release party. I'm always trying to show off other writer's work on my blog. :)

Best of luck! And again, congrats!

CONGRATULATIONS!! How wonderful and exciting! As far as marketing goes, just get your book on as many blogs as you can to get the word out. A lot of writers are very willing to help out fellow authors.

You are welcome to do a post on my blog anytime.

Also, make a facebook page for your book. You can connect your blog to your facebook page and your posts will show up there, as well. I have some other ideas for you, but it's too much to write here so feel free to email me

I wish you best of luck and congratulations again!

Congratulations, and listen to the Ninja Captain Alex. He knows what he's talking about.

If you need a stop for your blog tour, consider yourself invited to the Lair of the Faerie Godmother.

And congrats again!

Yay! You're published! You should definitely set up a blog tour. The easiest way is to post a linky and have people sign up to host you. I'll sign up :)
