I'm Stunned.

Oh my gosh.

I can't believe it.

It doesn't quite seem possible, despite how long I've been working on it.

Time seems to have come to a halt. After hours and days, and weeks, months and even years, have I finally finished editing my first book?

The urge to read through it one last time is so hard to resist, but I told everyone else this is the final draft. I keep thinking I should just tell them I was wrong. That it needs just one more read through.

But honestly.

How many read throughs will it take to make it perfect?

Never enough.

It's finally as close to perfect as it'll ever be. So with all it's flaws (I know it has them), I'm starting the publishing process with CreateSpace today.

Oh my gosh.

I'm absolutely stunned.

Any suggestions? If you've self published through CreateSpace, is there anything I need to know?

Well done! Good luck with publishing. Now what are you going to do with all this spare time?

*snort* on Sally's comment. Now comes promotion. You won't have any spare time. :)

Congrats on finishing the book!!!

Congratulations! It's such a huge accomplishment. I will say one thing though, if your eyes are going to be the last pair on your manuscript before it goes live, read it just for typos One.More.Time.

I've done some hand bound books, and there is nothing as mortifying as a typo! Especially on your title page! and I don't know how they hide, but they do.

Will do!! Thanks for the suggestion :)

Awesome! Enjoy the moment. You finished a novel, and not everyone can do that. Have no idea when to stop polishing, I haven't quite mastered that part yet. I'm a constant revisionist. :)

Congratulations! :)

I guess as it's your baby, you'd want to re-read every bit of it till you're sure it's absolutely error-free! If you feel like it, read it once more. :)

Congratulations on finishing it! That's pretty awesome. :) I'm hoping to reach that point sometime this week, so I totally know what you mean about feeling the urge to pick it up and read it just one more time. Trust your instincts, though! :)

Congratulations! I'm with a small publisher, so no idea. Just remember to give yourself time to promote it.

Congratulations on finishing your edit! Such a massive achievement! I remember the feeling well. It's one of the best! :-)

I saw your comment on Julie Flanders' site about The Year I Turned 18 Blogfest. Just thought I'd let you know that you can still enter if you want - just post about what you hope WILL be happening when you turn eighteen. :-)

Hey Jess! Good for you!!! Taking a giant leap. How exciting!! You know, I revise a story 20 times and a year later I still find more and think, "What was I thinking that this was ready??" lol

That's the beauty of eBooks tho. You can always pull it down and revise. Super good luck!

Love the new profile pic, btw. Beautiful!

Congratulations. This is a big deal. Don't be surprised if you start to feel a little depressed. In my experience, finishing a book can feel kind of anti-climactic. Maybe throw yourself a party to celebrate.
