Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!
First of all, I really can't wait until February 23 (tomorrow) for two reasons: a) because my synchronized skating team will be performing at the Quicken Loans Ice Arena and b) because that's the day that the ABNA round two entrants will be announced.
I really don't think I made it; I know a lot of people entered. But once that's over, if I haven't made it to the second round I can start looking for other publishers to query. We've had the 2012 edition of the Writers Digest checked out from the library and sitting on my desk since November.
And thanks to Cassie Mae and Angela Cothran's Character blogfest (was it two weeks ago or one?), I got to know some new characters in my head and started a new project!
Yes, it does have something to do with my flash fiction entry in the Campaign (it's right below this post if you want to read it... and votes are still appreciated! I'm entry #19). I'm really excited about it!
I call it... (this is a working title, okay? Not the official name yet): Guardians of Paradise
Sound interesting? I hope so.
Getting to the title of this post, I already have 13,000 words. The thing is, I'm writing it from third person past tense. My first book, The Trials, I wrote from first person POV and present tense so this is a huge change for me. And I find myself using the word 'but' a lot.
So yeah, that's about it for now.
Oh, I almost forgot! What do you guys think of my new blog banner? I know, it's not all that professional or anything but seeing that I made it, I'm pretty happy with it. I don't know. What do you guys think? Does it fit my blog well?
Okay, I'm getting back to writing now!

P.S.
Sorry for the rambling-ness of this post... I think I was a little too excited.

I like the blog banner. Good luck at the competition!
And there's always some word for each novel that creeps up on ya. My current one is 'very'. :)
Glad you're experimenting with POV. It's timely, since I've been posting about doing just that. Which mode of 3rd person are you writing in???
LOVE the banner - it rocks!
You've got quite a bit going on right now. Good luck with ABNA, skating, and queries.
I realized just today that the Knights of Microfiction is this coming Monday. I just wanted to let you know I'll be participating, although I worry it won't be very good because I'm at a loss of what to write about.
Your skating things sounds fun and I'm anxiously awaiting the next round news of ABNA tomorrow too. Good luck to you! :)
My first four books at in first POV and now my current WIP is in 3rd person and it's a little hard to get used to.
I was pleasantly surprised when my browser opened to your page and the new banner displayed. It's simple and nicely done. Great job. It gives me a sort of sci-fi feel when looking at it.
Good luck and loads of fun with the skating and wishing you well with ABNA.
Hey congrats on getting past the first 10k. Looks like you'll be getting to 20k in no time.
I always write in third person. First just seems weird to me. I haven't even read something in that pov for so long.
Good luck with the skating. ^_^
Love the new banner! 13k, go you! It sounds interesting. :) I've started a new WIP, and I've been writing a lot too. I'm just convinced that the writing muses are afraid of the apocalypse, so their handing out inspiration left and right before the world ends. *nods* It's my new theory.
Your new banner is so YOU, the writer of your stories. Excellent design! Have fun tomorrow!
Good luck at the competition and I hope you win ABNA too!
Stalk ya tomorrow! :D
Love the new banner you have! Good luck with everything! New WiP are always fun. :)
I love the banner! :) And good luck with your WiP! It's always good to mix it up a little.
I love the banner, and it looks pretty professional to me.
Congratulations on the 13,000 and good luck for ABNA!
Your blog banner is very professional looking. In a past life I was a skilled ice skater. In this life, not so much. :) But I have dreams where I know what I'm doing.
Anyhoo, I'm here from the campaign and will work my way down to your entry.
Crossing fingers for your for ABNA.
Your exuberance always brings a smile to my face. Can't wait to read the new characters!
